Blog Update #2: 3D Model Development (1st Draft)

For the past few weeks, development has been ongoing regarding building the mechanical housing of Melodi; the industrial sketches displayed in past updates are now being referenced to build the 3D Model. Attached below is the 1st draft of Melodi's design.

Please note that this design is non-final, and all elements displayed are subject to change. Based on the discussions held with LA NPDT, the following will be considered for revisions:

• Add a bit more space vertically (in rows of 2) between the arpeggiator, sustain/program, and octave control.

• Incorporate speaker grills for L and R channels accordingly.

  • Also, incorporate a separate “bass speaker” into the chassis (e.g., Lenovo Y700 has a bass speaker at the bottom of its chassis).

• Decrease the size of the screen’s bezels all around.

  • Note: Current screen is a placeholder.

• Have the black keys protrude a tad more.

  • White keys would be lowered.
