Blog Update #9: Melodi's Alpha Prototype Arrived!

After facing extensive supply chain and hardware issues, I am excited to announce that we’ve overcome them and officially received Melodi's alpha prototype!

Recent Development Journey

Since the last update, we have worked through several complex issues related to custom hardware and software integration. The most significant challenge has been ensuring the functionality of Melodi’s integrated MIDI Controller, which now successfully interacts with Windows and third-party production software. However, as expected in this early stage of development, not all intended features are fully operational yet.

We removed the trackpad originally included in Melodi's renderings. Including this in the current model created wiring/communication issues between other components; mouse navigation may best be achieved through a built-in TrackPoint or external mouse configuration.

The unit is functional but requires further refinement. We plan to resolve these remaining issues as we transition to the next phase—developing the beta prototype(s). I’m bringing on a new team of engineers to help us move forward, and their involvement will be announced during our upcoming fundraising campaign.

What Happens Now?

As we prepare for the next stage of development, I’m actively seeking to raise capital through various avenues. In addition to our upcoming crowdfunding campaign, I am offering equity in exchange for capital and exploring partnership and collaboration opportunities with performing artists, record labels, and technology companies. These partnerships could significantly propel Melodi’s development and help bring the device to a broader audience of music creators.
